Under the soft glow of the stage lights, Luke Bryan paused before the first chord and told the crowd he had someone special on his mind. Then, with quiet reverence, he dedicated his performance of “Drink A Beer” to the late Brandon Blackstock. The song — already a tender tribute to loss — took on a deeper weight as Bryan’s voice cracked with emotion, every lyric landing heavy in the silent arena. Fans held up their phones, swaying in unison, as if sending the song to someone far beyond the stage. It wasn’t just a performance. It was a farewell in melody.

Luke Bryan Dedicated One Of His Songs To Music Producer Brandon Blackstock

Country music singer Luke Bryan dedicated his performance of “Drink a Beer” to music producer Brandon Blackstock Thursday (August 7) after he tragically passed away after a three-year battle with cancer.

“Have a sip of your beer for Brandon Blackstock today,” Bryan said before singing with the crowd.

“We love you man,” he continued.

Who Is Brandon Blackstock?

Brandon Blackstock was best known for being married to music superstar Kelly Clarkson and the pair married in October 2013.

In June 2014, they welcomed their first child together, a daughter named River Rose. In April 2016, their son Remington Alexander was born.

Brandon was also the former stepson of Reba McEntire, who was married to his father, Narvel Blackstock.

Although not his biological mother, Reba has spoken warmly about her relationship with Brandon and her stepchildren, treating them as part of her family. Over the years, she remained involved in their lives even after her divorce from Narvel in 2015.

Brandon’s Ties To Country Music

Brandon was a music manager at Starstruck Entertainment, the company founded by his father Narvel. There, he managed major country artists like Blake Shelton and Rascal Flatts.

From 2017 until their separation in 2020, Brandon Blackstock served as one of Kelly’s managers, helping to secure major opportunities such as her role on The Voice and the launch of her daytime talk show.
