Country music favorite Robert Earl Keen is making sure no fan is left out of his upcoming Texas Flood Relief Concert. In a heartfelt move, the singer-songwriter announced special watch-from-home options, allowing supporters across the country to join the cause from their own living rooms. The event promises an intimate mix of music and community spirit, with every note helping raise funds for those affected by devastating floods. Keen says the goal is simple — bring people together, no matter where they are, to make a difference. For fans, it’s more than just a concert; it’s a chance to be part of something bigger.

Texas has made a significant impact since the tragic floods that occurred over the Fourth of July weekend.

On the 4th of July, parts of South and Central Texas, especially Kerr County, were ravaged by floodwaters, sweeping away people, homes, and communities. The event was horrific to say the least. Families are mourning their loved ones, and the affected communities are still identifying what they need to rebuild.

Thankfully, with the help of the country music community, many artists have announced or put on benefit shows. George Strait’s ‘Strait To The Heart’ concert raised $6.5 million and counting, Pat Green raised over $1 million through his virtual concert held at Globe Life Field, Koe Wetzel’s show raised over $750,000, and Josh Weathers quickly organized a virtual show that surpassed $500,000. There are still many more concerts to come, including Miranda Lambert and Parker McCollum’s concert, which features a stacked lineup that includes Ryan Bingham, Wade Bowen, Kelly Clarkson, Ronnie Dunn, Dylan Gossett, Jack Ingram, Cody Johnson, Lyle Lovett, Lukas Nelson, Jon Randall, and Randy Rogers Band.

It’s been incredible to see Texas rally around the shows that have already taken place, and it’s even more remarkable to see the overlap in some lineups, with artists supporting their country music colleagues making appearances at multiple benefit concerts. That’s the definition of standing together.

Another Texas legend who has yet to host his benefit show is the singer-songwriter Robert Earl Keen. Right after the floods, Texas legend Robert Earl Keen took to social media with a heavy heart to share his thoughts and announced that he was planning a benefit show to help his home state.

“I will be working on a benefit to support the community, and more details to follow as soon as we know them. In the meantime, please support those in need via the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country. That’s the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country.”

Keen also told fans that he will share a direct link in his post for followers and for those who feel called to donate. He, too, is donating to the fund.

“I will be donating 100% of the merchandise sales from our current tour to the community foundation as well. My sincere prayers and condolences to all those involved in this tragedy. And please stay tuned as I work in partnership with the community to continue to support those in need.”

Robert Earl Keen kept his early promise of putting on a benefit show, officially dubbed Robert Earl Keen & Friends: Applause For The Cause, and he ensured it was one that folks would not forget.

On August 28th at Whitewater Amphitheater outside of New Braunfels, Texas, Keen will hit the stage with special guest Tyler Childers, alongside a special trio set from Miranda Lambert, Jon Randall, and Jack Ingram, plus Cross Canadian Ragweed, Randy Rogers, Ryan Bingham, Ray Wylie Hubbard, and more.

That’s one helluva lineup.

Tickets to the show quickly sold out five minutes after they went on sale, but like many other artists offering virtual viewing options, Robert Earl Keen is following suit. Fans who were not lucky enough to snag tickets for the show can now enjoy the music and donate from the comfort of their home.

Robert Earl Keen and Whitewater Amphitheater have teamed up with Amazon Music, DIRECTV, Veeps, and YouTube (the stream will be hosted on Robert Earl Keen’s YouTube channel), giving people all over the nation a chance to tune in to the show.

Applause For The Cause will be held on August 28th, with the livestream beginning at 3:55 PM CST.
