Jelly Roll Enters WWE SummerSlam with Randy Orton — But It Was His Tearful Tribute to Toby Keith That Stole the Night

Jelly Roll And Logan Paul Have A Short, But Fiery History

On July 11th, Jelly Roll was a performer at WWE’s SmackDown in Nashville. In the middle of singing “Liar,” Logan Paul interrupted him and started hurling insults at the Grammy-nominated singer’s way.

After a lengthy rant, where he called Jelly Roll a “clout chaser,” WWE legend Randy Orton stepped in the defend Jelly Roll. Orton and Paul began verbally sparring when another WWE wrestler, Drew McIntyre, blindsided Orton. As things progressed, Paul ended up standing over Orton, who looked defeated on the ground.

Jelly Roll grabbed Paul by the hair and threw him in a very impressive manner! They continued to yell at each other after the fight was over.

Later in the broadcast, Orton apologized to Jelly Roll for putting him in the position to get hurt, but the singer admitted he got involved on his own and would love to get revenge on Paul someday.

Orton then suggested they have an official match against Paul and McIntyre, perhaps at WWE’s SummerSlam. And so, it was announced that they would compete at the epic event on August 1st.

A few days after the impromptu fight at SmackDown, Jelly Roll was guest hosting Jimmy Kimmel Live. In the middle of interviewing Orton, who was a guest on the show, McIntyre showed up out of nowhere and began talking smack. The two wrestlers tackled each other so hard that they went out the set door,

The new late-night host realized he didn’t have a guest anymore so he tried to throw it to commercial, but then Paul showed up smack talking again, calling the singer a “greasy, redneck prison rat,” before slapping him across the face.

The Pair Met Again In WWE’s SummerSlam

To continue this new rivalry, Jelly Roll and Randy Orton gave it their all against Logan Paul and Drew McIntyre at SummerSlam, which was held at MetLife Stadium.

Before their match began, Jelly Roll paid tribute to Toby Keith by walking out to his hit song “Who’s Your Daddy?”

At one point, Paul tried to lift Jelly up over his head, but he couldn’t handle his 299-pound frame. The “Save Me” singer just laughed at Paul’s attempt and then did what the wrestler wanted to do – lift him over his head and slam him on the mat!

Jelly got a few jabs on McIntyre, but wasn’t able to withstand McIntyre’s head butt. Eventually, the “Hard Fought Hallelujah” singer was thrown out of the ring and announcers said over and over that he was “out cold.”

McIntyre placed Jelly Roll on the announcer’s table and Paul jumped from the top of the corner post and slammed the singer! Both were writhing in pain, with Jelly Roll being escorted out by medical personnel, but eventually returning to the ring.

Logan Paul and Drew McIntyre were named the winners of the match, which could have gone either way until that final slam!
