Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban’s daughter has finally broken her silence — revealing the two strict household rules her superstar parents enforced, including one she absolutely hated. The young star admitted the rules “shaped her life,” but confessed there was one in particular that made her feel trapped growing up. Fans are now buzzing, wondering how Hollywood’s golden couple balanced fame, family, and discipline behind closed doors. Which rule pushed her over the edge — and why is she speaking out now?

Growing up with Nicole Kidman as your mom and Keith Urban as your dad might sound like a dream, but for Sunday Rose, it came with a couple of rules that she didn’t always love.

At just 17 years old, Sunday Rose Kidman Urban is already stepping into the spotlight, making waves on runways and carving her own path. But she’s quick to remind everyone that her famous parents set boundaries before she could even think about taking on the fashion world. In a recent interview, she revealed the two household rules that defined her teenage years. The first was that she wasn’t allowed to touch fashion work until she turned 16. The second? School had to come first, no matter what.

“At first I hated it,” Sunday admitted, “but I’m actually really glad I have these rules because they keep me in a good mindset.”

It’s a refreshingly grounded perspective for someone raised in a household where Hollywood glitz and country music stardom collide. Nicole and Keith weren’t about to let their daughter sprint down the road to fame without making sure she had her feet firmly planted in reality. And while Sunday might have groaned about it back then, now she admits those guidelines are helping her balance the big dreams with everyday life.

Modeling isn’t the only thing on her radar, though. She’s got her sights set on college, with filmmaking at the top of her list. “It’s actually been my dream since I was 5,” she confessed. If that doesn’t sound like a kid determined to make her own mark, I don’t know what does.

And make no mistake, Sunday isn’t trying to coast on her parents’ names. In fact, she said that when people her age meet her, they often have no idea who her family is, and she loves it. “It’s sort of wonderful because I’m able to make a first impression based on who I am and not who my family is,” she explained.

That mindset carried her to the runway in 2024 when she debuted with Miu Miu at Paris Fashion Week. Dressed in a sleeveless white dress paired with black knee socks and pumps, Sunday stunned the crowd and made headlines of her own. She strutted with confidence, and fans couldn’t help but see flashes of her mom’s grace paired with a spark that’s all her own.

Nicole, for her part, has been upfront about how she approaches her daughter’s career. The Oscar-winning actress said her role is simply “being a mom” and giving Sunday her own space to grow. Keith Urban, ever the down-to-earth country boy, summed it up by saying, “At the end of the day, anything we choose to do involves an enormous amount of work. So, go get in the trenches and start paying the dues.”

That tough-love approach seems to be working. Sunday has already walked for Miu Miu multiple times, received runway advice from Miuccia Prada herself, and carries herself with the kind of poise that’s rare at her age. But she still practices her runway strut in the halls of her high school, laughing about how her classmates tease her when she turns the walk to math class into a practice runway.

It’s a balance of normal teenage moments and extraordinary opportunities, exactly the kind of balance Nicole and Keith’s rules were designed to protect. And while Sunday once resented having to put school before everything else, she now seems to understand why those rules mattered.

Sunday Rose is proving that fame doesn’t have to define you, even if you’re born into it. With her head on straight, her eyes on college, and her feet already hitting international runways, she’s walking her own path, and you can bet she’s doing it with a strut.
