The minor was last observed leaving her Santa Martha Acatitla neighborhood home to visit a local store. Relatives claim that Perla Alison never came back after asking for permission to buy some candy. Authorities and citizen groups have been conducting a thorough search since a nationwide Amber Alert was issued.

On an empty lot close to the Constitución de 1917 metro station, the discovery was made. A neighbor called 911 after noticing a bad smell emanating from an abandoned building. After Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) officers surrounded the area, the body was later found by specialists from the Mexico City Attorney General’s Office.

The body displayed evidence of violence, according to the prosecutor’s office, and a femicide investigation has been launched. Although the autopsy results will formally determine the cause of death, preliminary evidence points to the minor possibly having experienced abuse prior to death.

The public is deeply outraged by the news, particularly on social media, where Perla Alison’s case was extensively shared in the days leading up to the search. For whoever is found guilty, feminist organizations and civil associations are calling for justice and exemplary punishment. Continue reading below.
