Former President Joe Biden, 82, recently had Mohs surgery to remove skin cancer. This procedure removes layers of skin until no cancer cells remain. Speculation arose after Biden was seen in Delaware with a scar on his head and later with a bandage and a hat to conceal it.
This follows a more serious diagnosis: Biden is currently battling aggressive prostate cancer that has spread to his bones. Doctors first discovered the issue in May. He also had basal cell carcinoma removed from his chest in 2023 while in office.
Born in 1942, Biden served as the 46th U.S. president from 2021 to 2025 after decades in public service. Elected to the Senate at age 29, he was one of the youngest ever. He later became Vice President under Barack Obama and defeated Donald Trump in 2020.
Biden’s presidency faced significant challenges including the pandemic, economic recovery, and the withdrawal from Afghanistan. In July 2024, after a poor debate performance, he announced he wouldn’t seek re-election and endorsed Kamala Harris. Through personal and political struggles, Biden remains defined by resilience and dedication to service.
