A newly filed protective order places strict limits on Tyler Robinson, the 22-year-old charged with the murder of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. According to the Western Journal, the order prohibits Robinson from engaging in harassment, threats, stalking, or any conduct that could put the protected person—or their family—in reasonable fear of harm.
Robinson is being held without bail at the Utah County Jail, and officials say he will not be granted release on recognizance anytime soon. While incarcerated, he may still have limited access to a phone, which prompted the court to include specific restrictions on communication.
The order makes clear that Robinson cannot contact Kirk’s widow, Erika, either directly or indirectly. That includes phone calls, emails, text messages, social media outreach, or written letters. Any violation would be treated as a serious breach with potential new charges.
The ruling underscores the court’s concern not only for Erika Kirk’s safety but also for protecting her immediate family from additional trauma. It adds another layer of legal pressure on Robinson, whose case has already drawn national scrutiny and is expected to move forward with aggravated murder charges.
