Sad News About Jimmy Kimmel

The longtime host, who has led Jimmy Kimmel Live! for 21 years, revealed that his current contract — which runs for just over two more years — could be his last.

“That seems like enough,” the 56-year-old comedian said, reflecting on his long run behind the desk.

Kimmel admitted he isn’t sure what comes next but shared that he’d like more time for simple pleasures. “I like to cook, I like to draw,” he said. After more than two decades of celebrity interviews, political satire, and viral moments, he’s thinking about what life might look like after late night.

If he does step away, it would mark the end of one of television’s most consistent and beloved late-night staples — and the close of an era that helped define modern comedy on ABC.
