Marjorie Taylor Greene Criticizes Trump’s Policies on Tariffs and Immigration

U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) has intensified her criticism of President Donald Trump, taking aim at his tariff and immigration policies in a recent interview with comedian Tim Dillon. Greene argued that the president’s tariff strategy benefits “crypto donors” rather than everyday Americans, claiming that manufacturing companies are struggling to navigate supply shortages and rising costs.

“The focus should be on regular people — those who stood in the rain and heat at rallies,” Greene said. “Not crypto donors or new elites gathering in the Rose Garden.” Her comments mark one of the strongest public rebukes of Trump from within his own party, emphasizing her belief that his administration has lost sight of its working-class base.

During the same discussion, Greene also addressed immigration, acknowledging the need for reform but suggesting that certain industries should continue to allow immigrant labor. As a former business owner in the construction industry, she said mass deportations were unrealistic and called for a “smarter plan” that reflects economic realities.

Greene’s recent statements have sparked attention from across the political spectrum. While Democrats have praised her remarks as a sign of moderation, Republicans remain divided — some viewing her comments as pragmatic, others as political betrayal. As her stance continues to evolve, Greene’s criticism highlights growing ideological fractures within the GOP heading into the 2026 election cycle.
