Heartbreaking comment paramedic made to Rob Reiner’s daughter after she found him dead

Romy Reiner, daughter of filmmaker Rob Reiner and producer Michele Singer Reiner, reportedly did not know both of her parents were dead when she entered their Brentwood home. On Sunday afternoon, December 14, the 27-year-old went to the residence after a massage therapist reported being unable to reach the couple. Inside, Romy discovered her father’s body and fled the home in shock, unaware that her mother had also been killed. She was later informed by a paramedic that both parents were deceased.

Authorities confirmed that Rob Reiner, 78, and Michele Singer Reiner, 68, had died from multiple knife wounds, prompting an immediate homicide investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department. The shocking discovery triggered widespread grief across Hollywood and beyond. Several hours later, police arrested the couple’s 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, near the University of Southern California campus following what officials described as rapidly developing evidence.

Prosecutors charged Nick Reiner on December 16 with two counts of first-degree murder, including a special allegation involving the use of a knife. If convicted, he faces life in prison without the possibility of parole. Investigators have noted that Nick had been involved in a heated argument with his father the night before the killings at a holiday gathering. Authorities have not yet said whether they will seek the death penalty, and they have not confirmed whether his past mental health and substance abuse struggles will factor into the case.

Rob Reiner’s death ends a legendary Hollywood career spanning more than five decades, from his iconic role on All in the Family to directing classics like The Princess Bride, Stand by Me, and When Harry Met Sally…. Michele Singer Reiner was also a respected producer known for her behind-the-scenes influence and creative leadership. As the investigation continues, the Reiner family faces an unimaginable loss—one that has left both the entertainment world and the public grappling with disbelief and sorrow.
