Bad news has emerged from the boxing world, as Anthony Joshua was reportedly injured in a serious car crash in Nigeria—just ten days after his knockout win over Jake Paul.
The accident happened Monday on the busy Lagos–Ibadan expressway in Ogun State, when the vehicle Joshua was riding in collided with a stationary truck, according to police reports. Joshua was seated in the back of the car with three others.
Tragically, two passengers were killed in the crash. Joshua reportedly suffered minor injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment. Videos circulating online show him sitting dazed inside the damaged vehicle before bystanders helped pull him out.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the accident. Paul later responded publicly, offering condolences and writing that “life is much more important than boxing,” while expressing prayers for the victims and for Joshua’s recovery.
