Billionaire donates huge amount to ICE agent who killed Renee Nicole Good

Billionaire hedge fund manager Bill Ackman donated $10,000 to a GoFundMe supporting ICE agent Jonathan Ross, who fatally shot Renee Nicole Good during an immigration operation in Minneapolis on January 7. The donation immediately ignited backlash and intensified public debate over the killing of Good, a 37-year-old mother who was shot near her home.

Authorities claim Good “weaponized” her vehicle and posed a threat, while witnesses and advocacy groups argue she was unarmed and acting as a legal observer. Video footage and conflicting accounts have fueled protests nationwide, with critics rejecting the official self-defense narrative and demanding accountability.

Ackman defended his donation by citing due process, saying individuals should be presumed innocent until proven guilty. He described the incident as a tragedy on all sides and said he had intended to donate to Good’s family as well, but their fundraiser had already been closed.

Meanwhile, protests in Minneapolis continue, and Good’s widow has spoken publicly about her wife’s kindness, faith, and devotion to family. Ackman’s donation has become another flashpoint in a case that now reflects deeper national divisions over immigration enforcement, protest rights, and the use of lethal force.
