Former President Donald J. Trump’s administration highlighted recent law-enforcement actions aimed at violent criminal networks, emphasizing a commitment to prosecuting individuals accused of serious offenses.
Francisco Javier Roman-Bardales, identified as a senior leader of the MS-13 gang, was extradited from Mexico to the United States. According to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, he is accused of involvement in drug distribution, extortion, and ordering acts of violence in both the United States and El Salvador.
Authorities noted that Roman-Bardales was one of the FBI’s “Ten Most Wanted” fugitives and the third individual on that list apprehended during the Trump administration. Earlier arrests included Arnoldo Jimenez on first-degree murder charges and Donald Eugene Fields II on allegations related to child sexual offenses.
Administration officials stated that these arrests reflect an ongoing effort to address organized crime and protect public safety, underscoring cooperation between U.S. and international law-enforcement agencies.
