David Letterman’s question that left Jennifer Aniston very uncomfortable

David Letterman was once celebrated as a late-night television icon, but some of his past interviews are being reevaluated through a modern lens. One that has resurfaced involves Jennifer Aniston and has reignited debate over what was once dismissed as harmless humor. Watching it today, many viewers find the moment deeply uncomfortable rather than charming.

During Aniston’s 2006 appearance on The Late Show to promote The Break-Up, Letterman repeatedly fixated on her legs, complimenting them over and over while the camera zoomed in. Aniston laughed politely and tried to deflect, but her discomfort was visible as the comments continued. The interview grew more awkward when Letterman pivoted to intrusive questions about her body and rumored relationship with co-star Vince Vaughn.

The incident wasn’t isolated. Years earlier, in a 1998 appearance, Letterman shocked viewers by grabbing Aniston’s neck and sucking on a strand of her hair, then handing her a tissue to wipe it off. Despite the clear unease, Aniston maintained her composure and professionalism—something she has consistently been praised for throughout her career.

Although Aniston has never publicly criticized these moments, they haven’t aged well. What once passed as late-night banter now sparks conversations about boundaries, power dynamics, and how women were expected to endure discomfort with grace. The clips serve as a reminder that cultural standards evolve—and that not everything labeled “humor” deserves a free pass.
