An incident involving a Frontier Airlines Airbus A320 (tail number N365FR) led to lengthy delays at Charlotte Douglas International Airport on August 16, 2025. During pre-departure ground operations, a ground air-conditioning hose was reportedly pulled into the aircraft’s #1 engine and damaged, rendering the aircraft temporarily out of service. The affected flight, F93134, scheduled from Charlotte to New York’s LaGuardia Airport, was ultimately delayed by about nine hours while passengers were rebooked onto a replacement aircraft.
According to aviation reports, the aircraft had arrived earlier that morning from Philadelphia. As preparations were underway for its next departure, the suction from the engine allegedly drew in the nearby air-conditioning hose. Ground crews responded immediately, and the aircraft was taken out of service for inspection and maintenance checks. No injuries were reported.
The aircraft involved was confirmed to be an Airbus A320-251N, not an A321 as some early accounts suggested. The jet, first flown in June 2019, is powered by two CFMI LEAP-1A26 engines and was approximately 5.7 years old at the time of the incident.
While disruptive for travelers, the situation highlights the importance of strict ramp safety procedures. Airport and airline teams followed established protocols to secure the aircraft and ensure passenger and crew safety before returning operations to normal.
