A robbery at a Family Dollar store turned violent when an armed teenager attempted to threaten employees and demand money. Witnesses say the suspect, identified as 18-year-old Adric White, entered the store with a firearm and began ordering workers to comply while frightened customers and staff tried to remain calm.
Among the shoppers was a man with a legal concealed-carry permit who closely observed the situation as it unfolded. According to reports, he eventually stepped forward and warned the suspect to stop. When the teen allegedly turned toward him while still armed, the customer fired several shots, ending the robbery.
White was injured and taken to a hospital, while police quickly arrived at the scene. Investigators reviewed witness statements and security footage to determine what had happened inside the store during those tense moments.
Authorities later described the shooting as self-defense and defense of others, saying the armed customer acted in response to an immediate threat. While the decision has sparked debate and strong reactions from the suspect’s family, officials say the case highlights how quickly dangerous situations can unfold when weapons are involved.
