Hollywood is remembering Michael Preece, who passed away at the age of 88 from heart failure at his home in Los Angeles. Over a long and respected career, he became known for his work behind the camera on some of television’s most popular series.
Preece began his journey in the 1950s as a script supervisor, contributing to major productions like True Grit and How the West Was Won before transitioning into directing in the 1970s. His experience in classic Hollywood helped shape a style that carried into his later television work.
He went on to direct dozens of episodes of hit shows, including Walker, Texas Ranger and Dallas, along with series such as Baywatch, MacGyver, and 7th Heaven.
Michael Preece is survived by his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and even a great-great-grandson. His legacy lives on through the many shows and stories he helped bring to life on screen.
