“We’re not going away. I’m not going away. I will be back on this floor, in this chamber, day after day, week after week, month after month, as long as it takes. I’m. Not. Giving. Up,” Lee thundered.
He framed the fight as a defense of the American dream itself, warning that letting non-citizens vote steals a fundamental right from American citizens.
“This is about the American dream. This is about the fact that when you allow noncitizens to vote, you are robbing something from the American people — something which is distinctively, rightfully, theirs,” he said.
Lee made clear there will be no compromise on the core principle: “We must not tolerate it — and we will not.”
The SAVE America Act, reintroduced this year with Rep. Chip Roy, would slam the door on non-citizen voting by mandating hard proof of citizenship and adding photo ID requirements for voting.
After years of open borders and lax enforcement, conservatives see this as a long-overdue safeguard to protect the integrity of American elections and ensure that only citizens decide America’s future.
Lee’s defiant stand sends a clear signal: Republicans who care about fair elections aren’t backing down. The American people deserve nothing less.
