Genie’s Wish She Couldn’t Grant

For years, that fight was filled with fear, relapses, treatment attempts, and the exhausting hope that things might finally improve. Like many families facing addiction, there were moments of progress, setbacks, and constant worry that never fully disappeared.

His death from an accidental overdose ended that long struggle in a heartbreaking way, leaving Eden with grief, memories, and the painful truth that love alone cannot always defeat addiction. It was a loss that changed her life forever.

Even so, she continued working and speaking openly about him and their story. In doing so, she turned personal pain into a message for others: seek help early, hold on to support, and never underestimate how deeply addiction can affect a family.
