House Passes Key Bill In Nod To Trump Admin

The bill would shorten legal challenges and speed up federal reviews for major projects, giving companies like OpenAI, Microsoft, and Micron a faster path to expand data centers and manufacturing. Backers see this as essential for national security and economic competitiveness.

Critics argue the law moves too quickly and gives too much power to industry. They worry it could weaken environmental protections, increase reliance on fossil fuels, and make it harder to challenge projects that affect communities and climate goals.

At the same time, the new U.S. Tech Force would place 1,000 technologists inside federal agencies while working closely with major tech firms. Supporters call it modernization, but opponents fear it could create a revolving door where public policy and private profit become too closely connected.
