“I brought my daughter into the world and took her out of it,” said Deborah’s mother, who stayed beside her until the end. Holding her daughter’s hand, she felt overwhelming grief but also relief that Deborah was finally free from pain after years of illness.
Deborah was diagnosed with stage 4 bowel cancer at just 35. For more than five years, she faced treatment and daily struggles with remarkable courage, fighting to stay strong for herself and her family.
Her death at age 40 left a deep emptiness, especially for her three children. Hugo, 16, and Eloise, 14, are now learning to live without their mother’s love, guidance, and presence.
After years of hope, treatment, and gradual decline, the family was left heartbroken. Still, Deborah’s mother remembers the strength and bravery her daughter showed throughout a long battle with a devastating disease.
