Authorities said the baby’s father, Jeremy Albert Best, was arrested in connection with the kidnapping and was also wanted in the death of his wife, Kali Jean Randall. The case quickly drew public attention as police searched for the missing child.
According to officials, a hunter contacted authorities after seeing Best near the side of a road and noticing unusual behavior. That tip led law enforcement to the area where they later found the baby near Best’s vehicle.
Best is currently in jail awaiting arraignment as the investigation continues. Law enforcement officials expressed condolences to the family, calling the situation heartbreaking for everyone involved.
