West Vigo Middle and High School hosted a grand “welcome home” event on Monday to celebrate Richard Goodall.
Goodall, who has advanced to the semi-finals of America’s Got Talent thanks to his impressive singing, works as a custodian at the school.
When he returned on Monday, students, faculty, and staff greeted him with enthusiastic cheers.
“The most important thing is seeing everyone come together for a common purpose. That’s the power of music—it unites people and creates joy,” Goodall shared.
He also encouraged students, reminding them that they, too, can achieve their dreams. The students expressed that Goodall’s success has been a source of inspiration for them.
In the coming weeks, Goodall will be preparing for his next performance. He is set to return to the show in the second week of September.
