James Carville urged former President Joe Biden to step aside for the Democratic Party’s benefit, stating, “No one wants to hear from this guy anymore.” On his “Politics War Room” podcast, Carville acknowledged Biden’s past contributions but criticized his refusal to leave the 2024 race, calling it a self-inflicted mistake.
Carville suggested Biden retire to his Rehoboth condo, arguing his continued involvement harms the party.
He dismissed Biden’s claim that he could have beaten Donald Trump as unconvincing and labeled his political trajectory “one of the most tragic stories in American politics.”
The former Clinton adviser emphasized that Biden’s earlier exit could have strengthened the party. Carville lamented that a timely 2023 announcement would have allowed stronger candidates to ensure a decisive victory, avoiding the party’s current struggles.
