Pastor Jeffrey Brian Merrow from North Carolina has been charged with embezzlement for misusing hurricane relief funds.
He allegedly stole donations meant for Hurricane Helene victims, including cash and supplies. Merrow, 60, has a long history of financial crimes and is currently on probation for previous offenses.
The investigation began after church members raised concerns about missing funds and unpurchased items. Merrow’s criminal record dates back to 2006, including convictions for fraud and larceny.
In contrast, Pastor Franklin Graham has led efforts to help hurricane victims through his organization, Samaritan’s Purse, providing vital aid to those affected by the disaster.
