However, just two minutes later, President Biden held a press conference in the White House briefing room, which led major news networks to cut away from Harris’ live speech to cover Biden’s address.
During the press conference, Biden discussed relief efforts for Hurricane Helene and other crises, while also addressing a question about Harris’ role in managing the ongoing situations. In his response, Biden again tied his vice president’s efforts to his own, further fueling the narrative that he is keeping her in his shadow as she gears up for her own potential campaign.
