I Adopted the Boy I Found on My Neighbor’s Porch & Helped Him Find His Birth Dad 13 Years Later – Story of the Day

One night, I found a crying baby on my neighbor Ellie’s porch and discovered she had no idea where he came from. After calling the police, my husband Justin and I decided to foster and eventually adopt the baby, naming him Tom. Life was tough but fulfilling until Justin passed away when Tom was eight.

When Tom turned 13, he found adoption papers and learned the truth about his origins. He wanted to find his birth parents, so we began searching, but had no luck.

Later, Ellie revealed that she knew Tom’s birth parents—Alana and Alex—and that Alana had left him on her porch.

I contacted Alex, who had no idea he had a son, and he agreed to meet Tom. This led to an emotional reunion between father and son.
