An old man applies for a job as a woodcutter

An old man applies for a job as a woodcutter, but the boss doubts his abilities, thinking he’s too old. The man confidently claims he can cut down any tree with a single swing of his ax.

To prove it, he begins by felling a small five-foot tree with one clean strike. Impressed, the boss watches as the man does the same with a ten-foot and then a thirty-foot tree. Finally, the old man takes on an 80-foot redwood, swinging his ax and bringing the massive tree down with ease.

The boss, astonished, asks how the man developed such incredible skill. The old man replies, “I practiced in the Sahara forest.”

The boss corrects him, “You mean the Sahara desert, right?” The old man smirks and says, “Well, yes, that’s what they call it now.”
