Dr. Nick Norwitz, a researcher, recently gained attention by attempting a daring challenge: consuming 700 eggs in one month, which equates to 24 eggs a day. His goal was to test the impact of this cholesterol-rich food on his body, particularly his LDL (bad) cholesterol levels.
To his surprise, after consuming 720 eggs, his cholesterol levels didn’t rise as expected. In fact, his LDL cholesterol dropped by 18%, with the most significant decrease occurring after he added more carbohydrates, like fruits, to his diet.
While the experiment isn’t a recommendation for others, it challenges the common belief that high cholesterol intake directly raises heart risks. Norwitz’s results suggest that other dietary factors, like carbs, can influence cholesterol regulation.
