Jake Tapper recently challenged Rep. Adam Schiff on his harsh criticism of Special Counsel Robert Hur’s report on President Biden.
Tapper reminded Schiff that Hur’s assessment of Biden, which described him as a “well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory,” was accurate, despite Schiff’s objections. Schiff argued that such personal observations were unprofessional and politically motivated.
Tapper also noted that Schiff and other Democrats had criticized the Justice Department, particularly regarding Hunter Biden’s investigation. He pointed out that Hur’s comments were necessary to explain why he didn’t recommend charges against Biden.
In a past House hearing, Schiff had accused Hur of making prejudicial remarks to harm Biden politically, but Hur defended his findings, despite acknowledging that Biden had violated the law.
