Trump’s decision follows his accusation that Biden denied him intelligence briefings during the 2021 transition, setting a precedent. He also referenced the Hur Report, which raised concerns about Biden’s memory, and questioned his ability to handle classified material.
Former presidents typically receive access to classified briefings, but Biden had previously denied this to Trump in 2021, citing Trump’s “erratic behavior” and questioning the value of providing him with intelligence updates.
