A year later, the internet is still obsessed with the viral video of a fearless grandma giving Luke Bryan a playful smack on the backside during his performance at the Houston Rodeo. The clip resurfaced online, with fans cracking up over how Meemaw did not hesitate to show her appreciation for the country star. Luke, ever the good sport, laughed it off—because let’s be real, who could resist giving that famous shake it for me move a little extra encouragement?

Video Of Grandma Smacking Luke Bryan’s A** From Last Year’s Houston Rodeo Goes Viral: “Meemaw Did Not Hesitate”

Hands to yourself, Granny!

The Houston Rodeo has come to an end, and this year’s rodeo performances were one for the books. From Zach Top playing his first stadium, Post Malone covering George Strait’s “Ocean Front Property,” Charley Crockett singing to his home state with pride, and Journey’s show unfortunately getting cut short after a fire broke out under the iconic star stage.

Luke Bryan closed out this year’s rodeo performances and packed out NRG Stadium. Now, I am sure we are all thinking the same thing here: out of all of the performers, RodeoHouston chose Luke Bryan to close out the rodeo? Why not Brooks & Dunn, Journey, Reba, or Brad Paisley?

While I can’t answer that question, I can confirm that Houston LOVES Luke Bryan as this year was the “Country Girl (Shake It For Me)” singer’s 12th time taking to the legendary rotating stage.

Luke Bryan is creeping up on the leaders for the number of Houston Rodeo performances, with Reba leading the pack at 20, George Strait at 16, and Brad Paisley, who has performed 17 times.

While I personally would skip Luke Bryan’s performance and hit artists like Zach Top and Riley Green during rodeo season, Luke Bryan draws one helluva crowd to the rodeo each year he takes the stage. Given that Luke Bryan is the most unserious person on stage, fans who opt for the “action seats” get a front row view of his antics, and it allows Bryan to interact with some fans in the massive stadium.

One creator, and a Luke Bryan fan, shared her experience at the rodeo as she went to see Luke Bryan from the dirt again this year. However, one of the clips she shared from Luke Bryan’s performance at last year’s rodeo is going viral on TikTok, showing a hilarious moment between Luke and a fellow “action seat” fan.

In the video, Bryan turns his back to the fans standing behind the roped off area, shaking his butt. One can only assume that he’s singing “Country Girl (Shake It For Me)” with the dance moves he’s pulling out. One woman who was feeling the music right on the barrier, leaned over and laid one of her hands on each of Bryan’s butt cheeks for a quick ass smack.

Bryan quickly puckers his cheeks, moving swiftly away from the handsy woman. He then places his free hand on one butt cheek.

Granny’s got a hard smack, eh?

Luke Bryan’s Houston fans are something else. No wonder the rodeo keeps asking him back to perform. These fans are beer-lubricated and ready to get down with Bryan during his performance.

Fans could not get enough of this moment from last year and quickly started cracking jokes about the woman laying her hands on Bryan. While this moment is funny, I can only imagine how shocked Luke Bryan was afterward.
