Young Boy Sees Dolly Parton; Photos via TikTok
Dolly Parton recently visited Dollywood in celebration of the iconic theme park’s 40th anniversary season. Parton, the “Dreamer-in-Chief,” welcomed guests to the park on Friday, March 14 and one little fan couldn’t contain his excitement when he got to see Dolly herself in a parade through the park.
In a heartwarming video captured by his family, an 8-year-old boy had the most priceless reaction when he saw Dolly Parton. Waving a pom pom and repeatedly exclaiming, “Oh my God,” the young fan could hardly contain his excitement, even screaming in disbelief and covering his face in shock.

Dolly, riding in a flower-adorned carriage, sweetly pointed at him and giggled as she rode by.
This certainly made for a truly unforgettable moment for the young boy and his family, who captioned the video, “Please watch! Our 8 year old seeing Dolly Parton for the first time.”
After Dolly passed by, someone asked him, “Who was that?” And he screamed “DOLLY” in response.
The video has been viewed a whopping 4.3 million times and has over 1.1 million likes on TikTok alone.
Thousands of comments poured in on the post as well, with many users applauding him for his epic reaction.
“Mind you this is the only appropriate reaction to seeing Ms. Parton 10 feet away from you,” one TikTok user shared.
Another quipped, “Honestly everybody else underreacting.”

This celebration was quite meaningful as it marked Dolly Parton’s first public appearance following the passing of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean. During the morning event, Dolly expressed her gratitude for the overwhelming support she’s received from around the world since Carl’s passing.
“I will always love him, and I miss him,” she shared.
She went on to thank guests for helping make Dollywood what it’s become.

“Thank you to our guests and the community for the support they’ve given to my Dollywood for 40 years,” Dolly said. “It’s hard to believe it has been that long, but it never would have lasted if it hadn’t been for you—our guests. On opening day in 1986, I was just hoping that people would really want to come visit a theme park with my name on it. And even though I always try to dream big, I’ll admit I was a little bit nervous that first morning. But people did come out to support us that first day, and I’m so proud to see that Dollywood has continued to grow through the years to become a place of fun and togetherness for everyone who has come to visit.”
She also shared her excitement about the I Will Always Love You Music Festival, which runs through April 13.
“I’m also very honored that we’re starting off the anniversary season with the I Will Always Love You Music Festival,” she added. “I hope that this festival inspires everyone to share their own special light with the world each day. It doesn’t matter what your dream is—even if it’s opening a theme park with your name on it—follow those dreams and never give up!”
