When a bride’s first dance seemed ruined by a “technical issue,” she had no idea it was all a setup. Just as panic set in, country star Mark Wills appeared on stage, stunning her with a live performance of Like There’s No Yesterday. Overcome with emotion, she tearfully danced with her husband, turning what seemed like a disaster into an unforgettable moment.

It’s every bride’s worst nightmare. You go to do your first dance with your new husband, but then there’s a big problem. The music isn’t working. But this bride got the shock of her life when her favorite singer Mark Wills personally dropped in to sing for her first dance. The production team had pranked the bride into thinking the band was just winging it after a technical issue, but instead, Wills walked onstage unannounced and sang his ballad “Like There’s No Yesterday.”

It took a moment for the bride to realize what was happening, but once she saw Wills onstage, her eyes went wide as dinner plates and she screamed aloud. Her new husband, who was clearly in on the surprise, doubled over with laughter and had a big smile on his face. The bride was moved to tears and after a moment, the couple resumed their first dance, which was without a doubt a completely unforgettable moment. The surprise was quite the hit on YouTube, where it drew 45 million views.

The video was uploaded on the YouTube channel Selective Sound Entertainment, which was the production team that organized the bride’s big surprise. Before the first dance, the emcee gave some background on the song choice, saying “They have chosen a very special song for this dance, because it’s from one of their most favorite artists, and that of course is Mark Wills.”

Wills played in a duo format for the event with a pianist and also accompanied himself on guitar. You’ve really got to give it up to the American country star from Georgia, as his live vocals were absolutely on point throughout. With 45 million views, the video has unsurprisingly become Wills’ most viewed performance on YouTube. Another popular live cut from Wills is his performance of his song “Wish You Were Here” on Country’s Unbroken Circle.

Mark Wills released “Like There’s No Yesterday” on his 2011 album Looking for America. The song was not released as a single from the album, but it has nonetheless become one of his most popular songs on streaming services. No doubt the numbers for the song were helped along by the virality of his surprise wedding performance.

Wills is a 51-year-old singer-songwriter who was born on August 8, 1973. He has charted 19 songs on the Billboard country chart to date. His most successful album is Wish You Were Here, which is certified Platinum in the US.
