Get ready to double over with laughter—Blake Shelton’s X Factor audition is the unexpected comedy show you didn’t know you needed. Picture this: a country superstar, usually ruling the stage with cowboy boots and charm, stepping into the world of pop ballads with Starship’s Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now. Spoiler alert—something just might.

Country superstar Blake Shelton tries outs for The Voice’s rival singing competition show The X-Factor in this hilarious spoof of an audition tape video.

“So what’s your name honey?” X Factor judge Kelly Rowland asks a nervous Blake. “And where you from?” she questions further to which Blake responds “Taco.”

The judges and the country star go back and fourth with playful banter and Blake gets momentarily offended by all the laughter clearly at his expense.

“I, Blake Shelton, will be performing a little something I like to call ‘Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now’ by Starship,” announces the country star before breaking into a passionate lipsync of the song.

Blake wows the judges with his show-stopping performance earning himself a hit from the buzzer advancing him to the next round. So if Blake’s country career doesn’t end up working out he has a nice backup plan.
