Adric White, 18, decided to walk into a Family Dollar store to commit robbery.

In a story that first surfaced in November 2013, 18-year-old Adric White attempted an armed robbery at a Family Dollar store while out on bond for a prior offense. Armed with a gun, he held employees hostage and demanded cash, unaware that his crime would be quickly interrupted. A Good Samaritan, legally carrying a concealed weapon, stepped in and ordered White to freeze. When White ignored the command and turned toward the man, the Samaritan fired five times, subduing him and preventing further harm.

White’s failed robbery shocked his family, who were left devastated and searching for answers. They struggled to understand how he had made such dangerous choices, especially given his previous run-in with the law. Sitting in the courtroom during his trial, his family wrestled with emotions ranging from heartbreak to disappointment. They knew Adric had made serious mistakes, but they also believed he had the potential to change.

Despite their sorrow, Adric’s family remained by his side. They wrote letters, visited him in jail, and stood by him during court proceedings. Their unconditional love never wavered, even in the face of public scrutiny and legal consequences. They held tightly to the belief that he could learn from his past and use this painful chapter as a turning point.

As Adric began serving his sentence, his family prayed that he would find redemption and embrace a better path forward. They believed that growth was still possible and that, with time and guidance, he could become the man they always hoped he would be. No matter how long it took, they promised to be there—waiting, encouraging, and ready to help him rebuild his life.
