Math can feel like a foreign language to kids, full of rules that seem to change depending on who’s asking. For one boy, a simple multiplication lesson turned into an unexpected lesson in logic—and sarcasm.
When he came home upset about getting an F in math, his father asked what went wrong. The boy explained that he answered “6” to “What’s 3 times 2?”—which was correct—but then got marked wrong after answering the same number for “What’s 2 times 3.”
Frustrated, the father asked what the difference was between the two questions. The boy’s response was instant and honest: “That’s exactly what I said.”
And just like that, the kid learned an early truth of life: sometimes you’re not wrong—you’re just arguing with the system.
