Logan ejected me from the house, claiming it belonged to his grandfather and that I had no right to stay. I packed my belongings, trying to hide the pain, when a black SUV arrived as I reached for the last box.
Logan and I had a rocky marriage, made worse by our struggles to conceive. Over time, he spent more and more time at the gym, which I thought was due to my infertility. My self-esteem plummeted as I felt like a failure.
One night, after Logan said he’d be at the gym, I went out with a friend to the pub. We were having a good time until she pointed out a man behind us, thinking it was Logan. When I turned around, I saw him with another woman.
Though I was hurt, I confronted him. Logan wasn’t shocked and told me it was time I knew about the affair. His mistress mocked me. The next day, I returned home to find my belongings on the porch and Logan smugly telling me I had no claim to the house. He and his mistress went inside, and she promised to redecorate.
Just as I was about to leave, Logan’s grandfather arrived. Upon learning of what his grandson had done, he was furious. He called Logan a disgrace, severed all ties with him, and told me I could stay in the house.
