Boy Wakes Up In Severe Pain During Sleepover With Friends, Notices Serious Burns On His Neck

Nickolas Conrad, a teenager from Arkansas, suffered first- and second-degree burns after boiling water was poured on his neck while he slept, followed by being set on fire with a lighter. Six boys attempted the “Hot Water Challenge” at a friend’s house.

“I woke up screaming and crying,” Conrad said. After seeing his injuries, he went home, and his mother took him to the hospital. He has since disassociated from the boys, saying, “They were never my friends.”

His mother, Mickey, urged parents to warn children about the dangers of online challenges. The Sherwood police investigated the incident.
