Officer Ryan Tillman, a beloved school resource officer at Don Lugo High School in California, wanted to leave a lasting impression when he left for a promotion to Chino Police Corporal. Instead of a traditional goodbye, he surprised students with a dance performance at a school assembly.
Teaming up with the principal and dance team, Tillman danced to Lil Mama’s “Lip Gloss” and later performed iconic 90s moves to MC Hammer’s “U Can’t Touch This,” all while wearing his police uniform. The crowd cheered, impressed by his dance skills and his ability to connect with the students.
Tillman’s goal was to build positive relationships and highlight a fun, approachable side of law enforcement. His viral performance earned admiration from the community, and his efforts to bridge the gap between law enforcement and the public continue through his organization, Breaking Barriers United.
