I Accidentally Dropped My 14-Year-Old Son’s Piggy Bank That I Hadn’t Seen before — I Was Shocked by What Was Inside

While cleaning my 14-year-old son’s room, I accidentally dropped a piggy bank I hadn’t seen before. To my shock, it shattered, spilling HUNDRED-DOLLAR BILLS and several credit cards. Some of the cards had names I didn’t recognize, including his own.

When my husband came home, we were both stunned. Our son confessed that he’d been doing freelance work online—graphic design and coding—and had been paid in cash and gift cards. However, he admitted to using a fake ID to set up the accounts.

While we were impressed with his skills, we explained that breaking the law wasn’t acceptable. We promised to support him in finding legal ways to pursue his interests and sought help from a financial advisor to sort out the situation. It was a valuable lesson for all of us about honesty, legality, and paying attention to what’s happening in his life.
