Sergeant Philip Dale Nix Honored

Sergeant Philip Dale Nix, a 22-year Greensboro Police veteran, was remembered at a heartfelt service at Westover Church. Nix, who was tragically killed while stopping a theft at a Sheetz gas station, was praised for his dedication and selflessness.

A Hero’s Legacy

Police Chief John Thompson and Detective Caroline Holliday honored Nix’s service, while Pastor Mike Carr urged the community to embrace his spirit of kindness. Nix’s impact extended beyond law enforcement, especially through his work with the Guilford County Family Justice Center.

Final Tribute

The ceremony ended with a 21-gun salute and the presentation of the flag to Nix’s widow, Kelly, as the community mourned the loss of a true hero.
