Sixteen-year-old Eric, feeling disconnected from his foster family, slips away during a camping trip to search for his real mother, hoping to find the answers he’s longed for. After walking for hours, he reaches a diner where he meets Eliza, his biological mother. However, she rejects him and brushes him off, even telling him she never had any children. When they try to leave without paying, Eric attempts to stop them, but Eliza grabs his money and runs out, leaving him behind. The police arrive, and Eric is taken to the station. The Johnsons, his foster family, soon appear, clearly worried. Eric confesses his feelings of not belonging and fears that they might no longer want him after having their own child, Mila. Mrs. Johnson reassures him, explaining that they consider him their son. Mr. Johnson reveals that the camping trip was meant to be the moment they officially adopt him. With the paperwork ready, Eric realizes that the Johnsons are the real family he’s always needed.
