Political analyst Lou Dobbs, known for his roles at CNN and Fox News, has passed away at 78. A divisive figure, Dobbs was widely recognized for his outspoken commentary, including controversial remarks about Barack Obama.
Former President Donald Trump paid tribute to Dobbs on Truth Social, calling him “an incredible talent” and “a friend who truly loved our nation.” Trump described Dobbs as a “unique journalist, reporter, and artist.”
Dobbs began his career in radio at KBLU in Arizona before transitioning to television in the 1970s. He was among CNN’s first reporters, hosting Moneyline in 1980. After leaving CNN in 2009 amid controversy over his immigration coverage, Dobbs joined Fox Business in 2010, hosting Lou Dobbs Tonight until 2021.
Fox News Media extended their condolences, praising Dobbs as “an amazing businessman with a gift for broadcasting.” He is survived by his wife, Debi, and their six children.
