Patrick Hardison Received A New Face After Third-degree Burns, This Is Him Today

In 2001, Patrick Hardison, a volunteer firefighter, was severely burned when a house collapsed on him, leaving his face disfigured. After enduring over 70 surgeries and constant pain, he lost hope of ever leading a normal life. But in 2015, Patrick became the first man to receive a face transplant, thanks to a match with 26-year-old David Rodebaugh, who had died in a bike accident. David’s mother, Nancy, donated his face, and Patrick received a new face, scalp, ears, and eyelids, restoring his ability to blink and see. Despite the risks, the transplant was a success, and Patrick’s life changed. He is now working on a book to inspire others facing difficult situations. His recovery is considered miraculous, and he hopes his story gives others hope.
