Colin Petersen, the original drummer of the legendary rock band The Bee Gees, has passed away at the age of 78. His death was announced on November 18 through a Facebook post by his band, Best Of The Bee Gees.

The heartfelt message read, “It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of our dear friend Colin ‘Smiley’ Petersen.” The post continued, “He enriched our lives and bound our group with love, care and respect.”

The band expressed their grief, highlighting how his glowing smile and deep friendship impacted them.

Petersen’s passing marks the loss of an important figure in the Bee Gees’ history, leaving behind cherished memories and music.
