Donald Trump was sworn in as the 47th President of the United States on Monday, returning to the White House for a second term. In his speech, he declared, “The golden age of America begins right now,” and promised that the country would “flourish and be respected” under his leadership as a “peacemaker and a unifier.” He also thanked God for saving him from an assassination attempt, which he believes allowed him to fulfill his mission to “make America great again.”
First Lady Melania Trump, however, won’t be living full-time at the White House. Instead, she plans to split her time between New York, where their son Barron will be attending university, and their Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida.
In a recent interview, Melania shared that her second move into the White House would be much smoother than the first. She already has all the plans in place, including selecting the furniture, which makes this transition much easier than the first time when they lacked key information from the previous administration.
Former First Lady Michelle Obama did not attend the inauguration, which added to the absence of certain traditional figures at the event, signaling a shift in the political landscape.
