Robert F. Kennedy Jr., nominated by President Trump to lead Health and Human Services, may have gained support from Rhode Island Senator Sheldon Whitehouse, a longtime friend. Despite their close relationship, Whitehouse has not yet committed to a public stance on the nomination.
Kennedy’s confirmation hearings will take place before the Senate Finance and Health Committees.
The Finance Committee will decide if his nomination moves forward for a full Senate vote.
While Kennedy could have some Democratic backing, he still faces opposition, particularly from Republicans. His confirmation remains uncertain as the process continues.
