His suspicion grows when Lily says the man actually told her he was her “real daddy.” Rather than confronting his wife Melissa immediately, the father decides to secretly ask Lily to invite the mysterious man to Father’s Day dinner without telling her mother.
For the rest of the week, he pretends everything is normal while questioning every phone notification and interaction with Melissa. Eventually, he checks their driveway security camera and discovers that several recordings from times when he was normally at work have been deliberately deleted.
The discovery convinces him that Lily’s story may not simply be a childish misunderstanding. Still desperate to learn the truth with his own eyes, he avoids confronting Melissa and waits anxiously for Father’s Day, when the mysterious man is supposed to arrive.
