Many drivers notice the dashboard button showing a car with a looping arrow inside but rarely think about what it actually does. This button controls the air recirculation system. When it is turned off, the ventilation system brings in outside air, filters it, and then heats or cools it before sending it into the cabin. When recirculation is switched on, the system closes off most outside airflow and repeatedly cools or circulates the air already inside the vehicle.
